LOVE : Our Top 5 Spots to Visit in Shoreditch
With our first ever pop-up shop approaching, we thought we’d share some of our favourite spots to visit in Shoreditch, which is where our very own Pop:IN store will be! From independent boutiques and ice-cream parlours to glam make-up studios and foodie hotspots (and just about everything in between), it’s no wonder Shoreditch’s streets are always bustling with tourists and Londoners alike. Read on for our top five spots to visit in Shoreditch.
'Everyone deserves great nails' is the ethos of our client, Tina Michael's, Shoreditch Nails and who can dispute that?! Situated in a cute nook on a street of artist's workshops in East London, Shoreditch Nails is decked out stylishly, with stripped back wooden floors, potted plants and a disco ball, of course. This nail salon is not a place for rushing in and out, it's designed in a way to make customers feel relaxed and comfortable. What we love about shoreditch nails is its friendly atmosphere, welcoming style and exceptional standards of service; if your shellac nails chip, you can go back within two weeks to get them fixed for free!
One of our absolute favourites since its first store opening in Bristol in 2014, Papersmiths’s popularity has spread like wildfire. (Did you know our founder, Olivia, was one of the first ever customers in their first ever store!) The company now have stores in Brighton, King’s Cross, Chelsea and Shoreditch. Its Shoreditch home is housed in a shipping container in Boxpark, with tiles in the company’s signature blush pink covering the floor and walls. If you’re a stationery addict like us, it’s hard to come out of Papersmiths empty-handed. Homemade cards and prints are displayed alongside indie magazines and notebooks just waiting to be scribbled on. And let’s not even get started on their pen selection…
Facebar is the UK’s first professional makeup bar and is located in the heart of Shoreditch. It offers high-end, fashion industry level makeup services but with affordable prices and open to all. Founded by Nikki Fiveash, who has made up the faces of Jane Birkin and David Gandy in her time, Facebar’s aim is to share makeup tricks and techniques with the public and show people how makeup can inspire confidence and bring a bit of happiness to all.
After all this shopping and pampering, you may well be in need of some refuelling. Shoreditch is home to a multitude of fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants but for those of you with a sweet tooth and on the hunt for something a bit different, Soft Serve Society in Boxpark is well worth a visit. Serving premium soft serve ice cream, Soft Serve Society offers towering sundaes, milkshakes and ice creams in flavours such as charcoal and matcha. If that’s a bit too out there, don’t worry, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate are also on offer!
Of course we had to include this one in our top 5. ;) There’s something to see around every corner in Shoreditch, but if you’re looking for a curated selection of independent products, a visit to our upcoming Pop:IN shop might just be the remedy. We will be hosting a range of dreamy products from some of our favourite independent brands in our store exclusively for just five days in May. It will be a chance for you to not only shop original, independent products but also get to know what it means for these brands when you choose to shop small. We can’t wait to make Shoreditch our home from 16th-20th May! Find out more about Pop:IN and the brands and offerings we’ll be providing here.
