MEET THE TEAM : Olivia Tripp
Olivia is the founder here at Weekend:IN. With her creative flair and love of independent brands, combined with her expertise in marketing and building a brand, it's no wonder Weekend:IN has gone from strength to strength since its creation in 2016. From a start-up project in Olivia's home office, Weekend:IN is now a reputable business in the centre of Bristol.
Olivia wasn't interested in going to university, always a woman with a clear vision, she knew from a young age that she wanted to work within the creative sector so she decided to forge her own path. She started her career by interning at several different companies; this helped her discover her interest and skills in digital marketing, social media and communication. With her talent and keen eye for aesthetics and design, it wasn't long until she landed her the role as a digital marketer for a luxury lingerie brand and was quickly building the business's marketing presence online. Understanding the growing importance of online influencers, Olivia soon gained Instagram powerhouses Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner as fans for the company, instantly highlighting the brand to a global network.
After three years manning the digital marketing at Fleur of England, Olivia decided to follow her gut and take the plunge with her own business; Weekend:IN. There was always a clear vision for her business; to work with independent and inspiring brands on growing their audience. Weekend:IN's first client was a beautiful local bakery in Bristol. Since then, Olivia has worked with a number of amazing independent businesses, including Ollie Quinn, Shoreditch Nails, Canopy & Stars, Joe's Tea Co and Papersmiths, as well as many more businesses across the UK.
With this love for inspiring brands, Olivia holds regular Weekend:IN influencer events that bring lifestyle brands and high quality influencers together to help promote the brands involved. Her 'How to Build a Brand' event which first took place in Bristol in January 2018 was a great success and on the back of this success, she has more events lined up in Brighton, Bruton and London in the next coming year.
One of Olivia's beliefs when it comes to being a business owner and working within the creative sector is authenticity and transparency; all the brands that Weekend:IN work with align with Olivia's vision, not just on a business level but also on a personal level. She loves to work with brands she is inspired by and would purchase from herself.
When Olivia isn't working, she loves to explore new cities, discovering boutique hotels, independent salons and beautiful homeware shops. In the last few years, she's travelled to Portugal, Copenhagen, California and, her new fave, Margate! This year she's planned a trip traveling the East Coast of America. As much as she loves to travel though, there's no place like home and in Bristol there are always new restaurants and pop up shops to try.
